Because of today's trends and the technology that exposes our children to explicit sexual content via the media, my answer to the parent's questions about ages for discussion:

[_] 2 months+ While teaching a baby their body parts, eyes, nose, moth, hands, feet, also teach them the correct anatomical words for the vagina and penis, instead of words like "pocket book" "wee wee"

[_] 2 years+ Teach your child that their body is their own, and that everyone is not allowed to touch them. Teach them what is appropriate in terms of bathing and cleansing themselves, and who is allowed to view them. Don't force them to give hugs or kisses, especially to family members that they show signs of being uncomfortable with and to strangers.. Teach them not to sit on people's laps or accept gifts without your approval.

[_] 4 years+ Allow them to talk openly with you about every body part. Be comfortable with asking them questions about their interraction with their peers and types of questionable behaviors you may have noticed as they are playing without being alarming. Use those talks to help your child understand boundaries in terms of their personal space and the personal space of others. Explain to them the importance of being covered properly with a robe over their underware or casual clothes while at home or visiting with family.

[_] 8+ Ask your child about how they take care of themselves and if they are uncomfortable in the presence of any other child or adult. Ask them about their conversations with other children. Use "Incidental teaching" by bringing up subjects in the news or on TV programs, or in the video games they play about inappropriate activities or criminal behaviors regarding adults and young adults, teens with children.

[_] 10+ Introduce your child to the discussion of reproductive health of both females and males. Find out what they know about relationships and how they view them. Discuss your family values in regards to relationships, sexual health: mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and physically. 

Ask about your children's school assignments and discuss them with the teacher regarding how they use the Internet to look up subjects for their studies. Caution them about viewing explicit materials of the sexual expressions that may "pop-up" during their searches. Talk to teachers at the beginning of the school year about the types of assignments given to the students that may lead to Web pages that contain materials that as a parent, you may not approve of.

Ask the teachers to provide students with a list of "safe" links for their homework assignments that the teacher themselves have explored and determined are age appropriate. When material does "pop-up" discuss what your child has been exposed to. Leave room for questions and answer honestly with what you know about healthy vs unhealthy sexual behavior and activities.

[_] 12+ Discuss the lyrics to the popular songs that they are exposed to while you're listening to the radio or watching videos. Find out if what they are listening to or watching is shaping their minds about relationships: sex, pain and pleasure.

"BAD THINGS" Directed by Hannah Lux Davis, the music video premiered on December 1, 2016 on Vevo.[5] It follows the pair as they lead a somewhat adventurous lifestyle, where they burn trash in barrels, steal stuff, and make out in a barren apartment. MGK (as Romeo) is the resident bad boy, getting into fights and racing cars while Cabello (as Bonnie) stays faithfully by his side. At one point in the video, flashbacks to younger versions of the musicians appear reassuring that their bond really has been unbreakable from the start. Bonnie and Romeo can be seen enjoying late nights at diners, gathering with friends and getting into trouble all while snuggling and fighting along the way. Their rebellious ways lead up to a cliffhanger ending as the pair are chased by police after attempting to steal a car. Stuck at the top of a building with the police hot on their trail and nowhere else to go, the pair decide to die together by committing lover's suicide. As Romeo looks longingly at Bonnie one last time and she nods to him in agreement, the police and their helicopters arrive to apprehend the couple and the lovers join hands together as they prepare to jump off the building together. Parents don't be ashamed or alarmed if you are limited in awareness or knowledge when your youth asks you questions. Let your youth know that further discussion will be forthcoming as more information is acquired. When we teach we learn.

THE DANGERS OF SOY

... First of all, people in Asia have not been consuming soy like you’ve been led to believe. The research and real life surveys of people from that part of the world tell us that soy has NEVER been a large part of their diet. It’s seen more like a condiment or an accessory to a meal when it’s used on occasion… Definitely not the glasses of:  

  • [_] soy milk,
  • [_] soy burgers, and
  • [_] soy ice cream

that people are hammering down today. Secondly, soy isoflavones and other potentially dangerous compounds found in soy are going to affect people differently. Yes, you might not have any noticeable symptoms yet, but the scariest part of the research is that the soy foods you’re consuming will likely damage your children much more than they will you.

In the video I site research showing that 2nd and 3rd generations given soy were progressively becoming infertile. We’re talking about the inability to reproduce, increased mortality, and chronic disease as a result of eating this new wave of soy foods. This has now become a serious issue, and this conversation definitely needs to be had.

Our ancestors knew that the actions we take now, how we take care of ourselves and take care of the planet, would heavily impact the well being of future generations. Many of us seem to have forgotten about that. So many people act in a selfish manner, and ignore the effects that their actions are going to have on their children, grandchildren, and beyond.

This is a call to action to get educated on this right now! Not just for our own health, but for the health and well being of future generations. The actions we take today are that powerful, so enjoy the video, and make sure to share it with everybody you know. By Shawn Stevens

Reproductive Glands The gonads are the main source of sex hormones. Most people don't realize it, but both guys and girls have gonads.

In guys the male gonads, or testes (pronounced: TES-teez), are located in the scrotum. They secrete hormones called androgens (pronounced: AN-druh-junz), the most important of which is testosterone (pronounced: tess-TOSS-tuh-rone). These hormones tell a guy's body when it's time to make the changes associated with puberty, like penis and height growth, deepening voice, and growth in facial and pubic hair. Working with hormones from the pituitary gland, testosterone also tells a guy's body when it's time to produce sperm in the testes.

A girl's gonads, the ovaries (pronounced: OH-vuh-reez), are located in her pelvis. They produce eggs and secrete the female hormones estrogen (pronounced: ESS-truh-jen) and progesterone (pronounced: pro-JESS-tuh-rone). Estrogen is involved when a girl begins to go through puberty. During puberty, a girl will experience breast growth, will begin to accumulate body fat around the hips and thighs, and will have a growth spurt. Estrogen and progesterone are also involved in the regulation of a girl's menstrual cycle.
